Choice for President - Obama

At this point in the election process, I support democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama. What this country needs is exactly what he promises to us: change and new ideas. With an unfortunate amount of people in the United States suffering from a slumping economy, people cannot acquire or hold their jobs. They face poverty and unemployment and the businesses face complete bankruptcy. But Barack Obama plans to change this and get people their rightful jobs back. He promises that 5 million new jobs that pay well and that cannot be outsourced will also be opened in America. To create most of these jobs, he will put them towards jobs that help the environment such as jobs in constructing the Alaska Natural Gas Pipeline. Thus, affected Americans can bring an income into their homes. Also to aid the working class Americans, he plans to cut taxes 95% for all working families in America. Obama states that the way to pay for all of his ideas is by “closing corporate loopholes and tax havens that don’t help America grow”. He also states that he will go to federal budget and eliminate programs that no longer work and build upon the ones that are completely necessary to create an updated and smoother bureaucracy.
Addressing foreign policy, Barack Obama’s position on the war is one that I agree with and think is best for this country. If we want our national security further protected, Obama’s plan is the one to listen to. Now that violence in Iraq has lessened, Obama wants to focus on a timetable of the removal of troops in Iraq in 16 months. He also believes that if forces are going to be taken out of Iraq, we must strengthen the number of US troops in Afghanistan. They pose as a real threat to our security because Al Qaeda under Taliban protection is reportedly becoming stronger. In order to help our economy, Obama also plans that in ten years; we will end our dependence on oil in the Middle East and instead drill here in America until we find a better solution for the energy crisis. Obama states that he will spend $150 billion in the next decade to find affordable and renewable resources of energy. I believe that Obama is the best choice for president because his plan for the economy, foreign policy, and domestic affairs are clear and fair. He focuses on and works for the good of the people. He promises change and new ideas and that's the kind of person that should be running the United States of America.
